I strongly disagree with your plan to designate Flowering Rush as a restricted rather than an invasive species. My family has has a cottage on the Winnipeg River near Minaki Ontario since 1911. We love this land and the waterway and try very hard not to polute the land or waters in any way we can.
We have seen the growth of Flowering Rush along our shores in recent years. It is increasing and that is very worrisome. This should be considered an invasive species of plant as it is harming our waters and impacting our native species. We understand the disastrous impact this plant can have on the environment and the fact that it is increasing so quickly is highly concerning.
Please reconsider, and designate Flowering Rush as an INVASIVE species.
