Your changes to the definition of affordable housing will make housing absolutely more inaccessible to many. For a government that claims to be looking out for the best interests of Ontarian's and is looking for solutions to a critical housing crisis, this seems completely counterproductive. My sibling, with intellectual disabilities, works a 30 hour week at minimum wage. The only job he can secure. He walks 100 km back and forth to work each month rather than spend hard earned money on a bus. He does not receive any disability or government support. Your change will affect people like him and scores others in a negative way. Tent cities are everywhere. Housing is already unaffordable. Factories are looking for employees, but the employees can’t afford housing locally. Frankly there is little housing available regardless. Please start taking an honest look at the people being affected rather than the bottom line.
