We should be continuously improving our policies regarding the protection of our environment, not perpetually backtracking to archaic ideologies and beliefs on the subject. I will lose all faith in the decision making powers of our government should this bill go through. I agree things need to be changed in our economy, but not at the expense of the environment. Allowing pollution and waste is not the answer. We should always be encouraging environmental innovation and progress through incentives to reduce the immense damage we are inflicting upon our planet. I believe wholeheartedly that this will always be money well spent. Short-term solutions like this proposal are precisely that, short-term, and they will have severely detrimental consequences in the long run. Not only in our lives but the lives of our children and grandchildren.
