I support the basic idea of PERMANTLY protecting the GreenBelt in Bill 136, but with the following amendments to prevent loop holes that can damage the GreenBelt as originally planned - to protect agricultural and environmentally sensitive lands in the Greater Golden Horseshoe area from development.
1. Protect all agricultural lands from speculators that want to benefit from urban sprawl development, as was the case when the government removed 7400 acres from the Green Belt in Nov.'22

2.There be no provision for land swaps.https://toronto.

3.No new licences for aggregate extraction.

4.Stop any "Overall benefit Permits" or "Pay to Slay" provisions that allow destruction of biodiverse habitat.
5. Meaningful consultation with First Nations involved, prior to any changes in legislation. The duty to consult is embedded in Canada’s Constitution Act.
6.End the previous "grandfathered' zoning for future planning applications that would negatively affect the Green Belt.
