I am a fourth generation resident of the Town of Grimsby. I feel compelled to express my disappointment with the Town of Grimsby Council's plan to recommend the removal of the Cline and Winston Road lands from Greenbelt protection to "open up land for development". The recommendation would undermine permanent protection of the Greenbelt, its natural heritage systems and prime agricultural land. Grimsby has very little green space left due to the narrow space between the escarpment and Lake Ontario due to rapid development. Over the years our prime tender fruit land has been sacrificed for the sake of development. There is nearly no lake front left open for the public to enjoy. It is my hope that the greenbelt remains protected.
