The Greenbelt needs to be permanently protected from development, it’s far too important to Ontario. There is more than enough land already designated for development so there is no reason to destroy desperately needed farmland for more houses that the average person can’t afford. What Ontario needs is affordable housing and opening up the Greenbelt will do nothing to help build affordable housing, only the wealthy will be able to afford those houses. It’s about time that this government start listening to the citizens for once and stop making their developer friends wealthier. It’s disgustingly obvious that this government is more interested in keeping their developer friends happy and richer than doing what’s right for the public. This government has made it perfectly clear that the interests of their friends and developers and campaign donors are more important than voters. For once do what’s right and permanently protect the Greenbelt from being sea by greedy politicians and developers.
