Bill 136 Greenbelt Statute Amendment Act 2023
The Greenbelt needs permanent protection. Legislation of Greenbelt policy changes should be limited to adding more land. All offsetting and compensation with regard to species at risk and their vital habitats should be prohibited. No new aggregate extraction permits should be granted. We need to protect our farmland by ensuring that prime agricultural land has a high level of protection. Previous zoning that would cause harm to the greenbelt’s ecology, water and farmland must not be grandfathered.
