I live on Shaver Road in…

I live on Shaver Road in Ancaster. I do not believe that the lands that were not in the Greenbelt then were put in the Greenbelt then were removed from the Greenbelt should be put back into the Greenbelt.
The citizens that live in this community had an opportunity to be enriched by the developers that were willing to give us community centers, senior, living centers, etc. as we desired, but instead, the city counsellors seem to listen to people from other communities that did not vote for them decide how our community should look. Everyone is well aware and it has been pointed out quite clearly. We have many immigrants coming to this area. Where are they going to live? Why should people that want to have single-family homes have to leave our area and move to places like Kitchener we are in need of people to work in our community. Many businesses have difficulty finding people to work, people should live and work and play in this area. I thought that was a mandate of the Greenbelt but instead there is a push to build in areas that people don’t want to live in places with no backyard. Leave these lands out of the Greenbelt and let’s build homes.
