I am happy to see that the Government is reversing its decision to open the Greenbelt. I would like to see amendments to the Greenbelt Statute Law Amendment Act, 2023 to ensure that the Greenbelt is protected and continues to grow. I would like to see wording which says that the Greenbelt Review can only result in the growth of the Greenbelt and no land can be removed. I believe the province should remove "Among other things, new section 19 provides that no cause of action arises as a result of amendments to the Act or to regulations made under the Act or any representation or other conduct by current or former employees, officers or agents of the Crown in right of
Ontario or current or former members of the Executive Council that is related to specified actions." in section 3 of schedule 2. I also believe the Greenbelt should be permanent and irrevocable and it should be easier to add land to the Greenbelt.
