As a local resident, I am very disappointed that Ash Grove has elected to shun the opportunity to reduce their emissions and in fact is applying to maintain a high level of emissions. The air shed in the part of Mississauga where the Ash Grove plant is located already has pollution problems, as noted by several studies over the years. Other industrial sites in this area of Mississauga have maintained their emissions at or below threshold, and those industries actively engage with and inform residents. Ash Grove is not being a "good citizen" and should not be given permission to extent their emissions. It is 2023 and we all have a responsibility to take better care of our planet and environment by reducing our impacts. Permitting the opposite is reckless and irresponsible.
