Regarding the proposed expanded landfill near the town of Dresden:

These comments will be similar to ones you receive from others in this community because we are all in agreement that the proposed landfill is too large and too close to our town.

1/ Location - The property is adjacent to the creek that flows into the Sydenham river. The run off and the chemicals that would leech through the soil would be a hazard to the marine life and the quality of water.
- The southern portion of the property is close to (one half km) a cemetery, businesses, individual houses and a subdivision with many homes.

2/ Delivery of waste - Many trucks would be passing directly by 2 schools in town which would be a safety issue for children. The extra truck traffic would have a negative impact on our businesses and funeral home located on the main thoroughfare.
Whether the trucks approach the landfill from the south, north or east there would be traffic congestion due to tractors and wagons hauling tomatoes to our canning factory, grain to our elevator, other farm equipment moving from field to field, and school buses.

These are a few of the reasons that this expanded landfill is not a good fit for our community.
I am praying it will not progress any further.
