1) the change to not allow the possession of live bait on natural brook trout lakes seems to be excessive. A better education system to identify species that shouldn't be released should be under taken. You will be putting a large number or law abiding people at risk for possessing live bait on natural brook trout lakes. And what about lakes that were once stocked and are now no longer stocked - the MNR would have introduced "invasive" species into these lakes with the stocked trout. would these lakes also be off limit to live bait as they are no longer stocked?

2) will changes in provincial parks such as LSPP increase the restrictions? It isn't clear based on the policy. CUrretnly LSPP has a no live bait policy would this change and bait fish would now be illegal?

3) Restricting the movement of bait within a BMZ with the suggested changes seems excessive. The amount of documentation that will be required will become insane to obtain and again will most likely cause anglers to go without and now will be seen as breaking the law. Why would you bring into enforcement something that will be an absolute nightmare to monitor and will only likely cause extreme anger amongst anglers who have not been made aware of the changes if fined. Or is this a way for the MNR to try and make money?

4) Most anglers who trap bait fish in Northern Ontario are doing so to one save money and two be able to get bait that they would otherwise have to drive long distances to get.
