Reasons I’m against the landfill
-too close to Dresden. Less than 1km
-any new landfill would require municipal approval. The current land fill is tiny compared to what the proposal would like. Both Chatham Kent and lambton Kent said they are against it.
-families and schools in the area
-all the information we know about landfills and how close it is to live safely by one
-Sydenham river and species at risk
-flood zone
-700 trucks a day
-decrease house value
-Dresden is a town expanding and welcome families, this will stop that.
-safety of drivers
-infrastructure not set up for this traffic
-it’s Sourounded by some of the best farm land in Canada
-South west Ontario is already heavy in landfills
-York 1 trying to sneak proposals by in the past, getting permission to use mollys creek to drain into the Sydenham. Trying to pass this without a comprehensive environmental assessment.
