Please stop “cutting red tape” and using MZOs to make it easier for developers to destroy wildlife habitat, wetlands, forests, etc. The UN says that affordable housing must not come at a coat to the environment. And these projects are mostly commercial and industrial. All this destruction contributes to climate change and human wildlife conflict. Building on wetlands increases flooding. Please do not allow natural places to be destroyed. Homes need to be near public transit and other infrastructure to be accessible. I agree with more basement apartments; I live in one. Rental in existing infrastructure preserves the environment.
