I live in Chatham-Kent and have relatives that live right in Dresden. Our community of Chatham-Kent already has a landfill in the Blenheim area. We need the Province to stop using our community as the dumping ground of larger communities. We seem to be the place to put wind turbines, hydro corridors (erected to help provide power to other communities), and more. Please send the people who make decisions to spoil our towns (by making them a location for eyesores and smelly trash that’s not even ours) here so we can talk to them face-to-face about what they’re doing to the small communities that make up Chatham-Kent. When we meet, we want to ask them where they live because I am sure they live in houses that are nowhere near garbage and/or recycling facilities. And do you know why? Because they wouldn’t want that. I am sure they’d fight to stop a dump from operating in their back yard. Well, we do not want this in our community either. If it were our refuse that was being trucked into our landfills, then that’s our garbage and our problem. Trucking in garbage from Toronto or Michigan is not something we want. Stop this now!
