I strongly feel the need to have a full environmental assessment completed. There has never been a study done. This proposed landfill will have a negative impact to everyone in Dresden and area including numerous surrounding communities.
The study will show our concerns for the following,
Increased health risks
Water contamination in Molly Creek into the Sydenham river which eventually flows into the St. Clair river
Destruction of workable wells in the surrounding area
Loss of workable farm land to feed people
Air pollution
Increase offensive odor
Garbage falling off trucks
Noise pollution 24/7, 365 days a year
Huge increase in truck traffic coming and going from the landfill
Decrease in property values
Decrease in local economy
Harm to wildlife, even extinction to some species only found in this area
The close proximity of the proposed York 1 landfill to the 2,800 residents of Dresden.
By having the environmental assessment completed it will show the negative impact of this landfill that York 1 is proposing .
