I'm not that upset about this. I think the previous legislation was good in making electric vehicles 'stick' past the early adopters phase of the consumer cycle threshold. With no current incentives, that doesn't mean that Ontario is no longer electric-vehicle friendly. Instead, we should be embracing the free market dynamics of conventional internal combustion engines vs electric vehicles + charging costs.
Ontario has a surplus of electricity on our grid. Let's stop selling it for cheap and instead reach a market equilibrium with electricity as a means of propulsion! Our air and water will be cleaner as a result of it and we can simultaneously combat climate change.
