Global reduction of GHG emissions will only be achieved by the combined action of jurisdictions around the world, including Ontario. A price on GHG emissions is an essential component of a coherent and effective GHG reduction strategy.There are many ways in which Ontario's existing cap and trade system can be improved but they do not include its cancellation. This proposed legislation is irresponsible and should not proceed.
