I am completely opposed to the proposed expansion of Dufferin Aggregates to draw and use water from French's Hill site for the washing of rock. The use of our precious aquifer water in the massive quantity proposed is not only wrong, it is stupid. Aquifers are a LIMITED resource, and precious. This aquifer is so large, and crucial to this whole area I cannot believe anyone would allow this wasteful use of the water. It is a known and proveable fact that In Texas they have drained their aquifers to water their crop feilds, and the water table fell. The result over time is that now most farms cannot get enough water, the crops no longer grow, and the LAND is SINKING! [Original Comment ID: 213164]
