The re-designation of this protected land opens up the conversation about re-designation of other protected lands. The lands included in the current green belt are there for their ecological significance. You can’t just swap them out. We fought hard to have this area protected, we should not un-do this for more single family low density housing. Instead, let’s please require municipalities to re-zone more R1 into higher density designations and encourage infill of existing developed areas.
