I absolutely support the bold and visionary Regional Official Plan put forward here and feel confident it reflects the desires of the most people, will support a livable future for the most people, and will put Waterloo at the cutting-edge of sustainable development.

Moreover, I encourage the provincial government to leave the proposed amends fully intact and approve them with the exact wording and sustainability concepts that received such strong support from area municipalities and individuals. It should be up to our municipality and our people to decide the future of our local area. I support this amendment to the official plan and implore the province to uphold the Region's authority to decide its own future (not be overridden by what the Province wants to see).
