In Ontario, we need to be cognizant of our lands, and what they will be used for. Previously a landfill type of operation, although small, shouldn’t automatically become a large operation. Looking at location, impact to the community and access for vehicular traffic should play an important role in decisions. Also, remembering that farmers feed cities, we need farmland to stay farmland in Ontario to feed our province! No, I do not live in Dresden but have been reading about this issue and it bothered me so I thought I’d share an opinion. Like an old factory cannot just all of a sudden reopen as a factory, a landfill should be the same.
