This proposal is for the renewal of the Limited Operational Flexibility for an Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 6254-9UXQRH for Magna International Inc., a Motor Vehicle Metal Stamping facility located in the City of Brampton, Ontario.
The emission sources from the manufacturing and associated processes that discharge to the air include metal stamping presses; plasma cutters equipped with dust collectors; metal inert gas (MIG) and tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding stations equipped with mobile fume extraction units; milling, cutting, sanding, grinding, drilling, CNC machines and manual minor painting operations.
Contaminant emissions to the atmosphere include:
- iron oxide
- manganese
- chromium hexavalent
- particulate matter
- nitrogen oxides, and
- 2-Amino-2-methyl-1-propanol
The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air). The Limited Operational Flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
