This ill-informed bill will increase congestion, decrease safety for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists, and add costs and red tape to decisions that should be wholly managed by municipalities.
Other jurisdictions around the world have learned that separating modes of transportation in cities saves lives and gets people from point A to point B faster than if everyone relied on private automobiles, the least efficient means of conveyance in a dense city.
This bill would encourage less-confident cyclists to drive, resulting in more congestion and pollution.
