As a Toronto resident who gets around without a car, and as a person who lost their only brother due to an unsafe driver, I feel it is absolutely imperative to have safe ways to get around town effectively and efficiently *without access to a car*. All evidence points to a relationship between reducing car traffic and giving residents alternative forms of transport, and there is a huge untapped demand for alternative transportation from folks who struggle to believe they will ever be safe on a bike as long as our government prioritizes drivers at the expense of everyone else.
