This is a terrible idea. Municipalities should be responsible for municipal decisions. This goes against the small government framework proposed by the conservative party. This will not reduce car traffic. This will increase car traffic as more people will have to use cars.

The only solution to car traffic is to reduce the volume of cars and to provide viable alternatives to driving. Keep the bike lanes under the municipal jurisdiction without provincial oversight.
