I am against removing bike lanes. We definitely need more of them in Toronto. Like any other rational decisions that governments make this issue should be based on studies and data not on politicians placating to their constituents in order to buy votes. Do we really want to be the only major city in the world that is going in completely the opposite direction of everyone else? Not only do bike lanes help to decrease travel times for everyone, they also promote a healthier population which in turn lowers healthcare costs. Can we please base our decisions on real world facts instead of biases?
