There are so many reasons why this is a massively bad idea. First of all, the evidence does not support the notion that bike lanes cause congestion. We know they don’t. Bike lanes support reduced congestion, they make our streets safer for everyone, they improve public health outcomes, they reduce health care costs, and they spur economic growth. I’m guessing that the policy analysts reading this know all of that already and are just as frustrated as the rest of us. To the Ford staffers coming up with these idiotic notions: stop playing politics with the health and safety of Ontarians.
