This is fundamentally undemocratic. I voted for a mayor, a city councillor, a provincial MPP, and a federal MP, all of whom are pro-bike lane, because I want bike lanes in my neighbourhood! This is a complete overreach by the province. Butt out of our municipalities! The regulation, installation, approval, and removal of bike lanes should be governed at a municipal level. Guess what Doug Ford, you’re not the mayor of Toronto, no matter how much you want to be. Stop trying to meddle in things you have no democratic mandate to. Also, bike lanes HELP REDUCE traffic, this is proven.
