Proposals like this make it very clear that Doug Ford does only works to serve a certain class of residents (financially sound enough to own vehicles) while actively working to endanger citizens who rely on other forms of transportation.
Municipalities understand the needs of their residents better than the province- if the municipality deems the necessity for a bike lane for their community, why would the province need to give approval? Having bike lanes and incentivizing alternatives to car sounds like it would actually help with gridlock.
Why the province wants to put the safety for cyclists at risk so that cars can arrive to their destination 2 mins faster baffles me. Absolutely ridiculous proposal
