Creating additional barriers to implement bike lanes is counter productive in so many levels.
Bill 212 is a waste of public money by creating more bureaucracy.
Bill 212 is a waste of voter's money since bike lanes are much cheaper than roads to build and maintain.
Restricting bike lanes is bad for local businesses with less people that can easily stop to shop and uninviting streets.
Bike lanes are planned in conjunction with municipal zoning regulations, economic and urban development local plans. A provincial process would make decisions without much of the relevant information.
