As a biker, I am so glad this bill has come through. Bike lanes on major streets like Yonge, Bloor etc is insane and dangerous for everyone, but especially bikers. The bike lanes on University and bloor are comically wide. Its clear that this is an ideological anti-car movement and isn't about helping or protecting bikers. These leftists are using bikers as pawns in their anti-car rhetoric, like human traffic calming, and it will only cause more deaths and accidents.
I fully support putting bike lanes on side streets and quieter streets downtown and being more creative with solutions to have bike lanes that are better planned and thought out rather than "cars bad, bikes good".
The city should be available to everyone and smartly designed to accommodate all transportation methods. I certainly hope that someone who is in support of the current insane bike lanes doesn't find themselves in the back of an ambulance, stuck in traffic and unable to get to a hospital on time.
