I would urge the provincial government to strongly reconsider Bill 212. There are many reasons I could state but the primary one, as outlined in the recent CBC article, is that the objective of removing and prohibiting bike lanes to alleviate traffic congestion is simply not based in any credible research. Please explore alternatives to address this challenge (improved public transport, incentives for carpooling, etc) rather than removing something that aids in keeping roads safe and people healthy.
