Ford’s myopic obsession with interfering in Toronto’s municipal government is clear. Bike lanes don’t cause congestion—cars do. Every major thoroughfare in Toronto, even those without bike lanes, is congested. His decisions contradict empirical research showing that bike lanes add little to no extra travel time for cars along Bloor. It’s time to stop the nonsense and listen to the experts, not just the vocal minority from the Kingsway. It’s not the premier’s job to meddle in hyper-local neighbourhood issues.
