As an Ontario citizen, I urge the government NOT to go ahead with Bill 4, Cap and Trade Cancellation Act. This bill will take Ontario backwards, not forwards, and will do far more harm than good to the environment and the economy. It's true that most Ontarians voted for change in the recent election, but this is not the kind of change that will improve Ontario's future. Climate change is a very real issue that every individual, every government and every corporation needs to be working very seriously to solve. We all need to be part of the solution, including the government of the province with the strongest economy. There may be many ways to fight climate change, but we should not take away the strategy that is in place until we are sure we have a better one.
