It is shocking to see a bill like this one proposed by the Ontario government. I am completely against it and I condemn the waste of tax payers money on ridiculous legislation like this one that adds more bureaucracy to the government, interferes with municipal issues, threatens the safety of cyclists, promotes more driving (i.e., more traffic jams, noise, pollution, etc.), and discourages healthy active lifestyle for Ontarians.
Drivers benefit tremendously from having more cyclists on the roads, because more cyclists means fewer cars driving on the road, which means less traffic jams. That's why we should build more bike lanes in the province and ensure that they are safe for cyclists to promote this mode of transportation (see the reasons above).
