I think this is a very poor initiative. It has been proven through countless studies that bike lanes are not the primary reason for congestion in cities. In fact they promote a healthier, more mobile population. This is just an overreach by the Ontario government to appeal to a select donor base that needs an easy scapegoat other than poor city planning, disorganized construction and public transport failures like the Crosstown.
