It is my understanding that the Sydenham river contains many species at risk, it also supplies water to many surrounding farms for irrigation and watering livestock. This year we have had two occasions when the river has flooded its banks in my area by >than 5 feet. Unprecedented rainfall and flooding in this area is happening more frequently. It would make sense that in order to reduce the volume of runoff from the site that the storage facility should be fully enclosed including the loading and unloading areas to reduce the possibility of contamination of the runoff from vehicles. A non permeable barrier should be necessary not just to meet todays weather events but those in the future. The current site plan does not meet todays events or even possible future events.
