I am a current resident of Adelaide Metcalfe Township - have been for 37 years at the present address.
I have been following this application / process since it began - and for the past several years have been concerned about this Biosolids Storage Facility proposal.
I live on a property with a drilled well - probably a better situation than many of my neighbours who have Shallow / Dug wells.
A tributary of the Sydenham River runs through my property and runs parallel to Calvert Drive on the north side of the highway...
Approximately 2 years ago, after the initial submission for a permit was filed for this site, the owner of Lot 7 & Lot 8 of Metcalfe Township had the complete acreage tiled with field tile, and the outlet of that tile runs into a ditch on the edge of the property which runs by gravity into the Sydenham River. I took several pictures and submitted them to the municipality and to the St Clair Conservation Authority, asking how a Biosolids site could be installed on a fully drainage tiled piece of land... which will ultimately run directly into the Sydenham River tributaries.
I was under the impression that a drainage permit would have to be obtained prior to proceeding with the tiling process... and there is no way that a Biosolids Site would qualify for such a permit considering the risk to run-off entering into the water shed and ultimately the water table / water supply in our region.
If this site were to proceed, then the region should/must be provided a municipal filtered water supply.
