I am so upset about the proposal to remove bike lanes. I cycle to work (at Dundas and University). Bay Street without divided lanes is an exercise in dodging in and out of bike lanes. I feel safe and secure on Bloor and University.
Bikes allow more people to move around in a clean healthy way. In my view, bending over backwards to allow each person to have over a ton of metal to drive to the downtown and park is backward thinking.
World class cities all come to the understanding that cars just take up too much space. Paris. New York. London.
Very very sad.
