Removing bike lanes will not reduce congestion, and will discourage new riders.
I use the bloor and university lanes year round, and while I have the ability to drive choose to use my own bike or bike share for the majority of my transit around the city
Bike infrastructure reduces congestion, is good for the environment and good for business and this has been proven in numerous studies around the world.
Adding additional lanes for motor vehicles has been shown to increase congestion as it encourages more people to drive, again this is something that has been proven in studies around the world.
