The provincial government should not be intervening in municipal affairs. Especially after municipalities have detailed studies before implementing things like bike lanes, detailing all of the added benefits.
It is a well known fact that having more bicycles on the road improves the capacity of traveller's on our streets, while taking up less volume, and would eliminate the need for more cars to be on the road in the first place.
This proposal is fundamentally flawed in its approach as it does not recognize bikers as commuters.
Promoting these bike lanes, instead of removing or relocating them is a crucial mistake that will only make congestion worse as time passes.
I urge this government to reconsider and abandon this bill.
