This bill is an atrocious waste of taxpayer money, ripping out perfectly good cycling infrastructure and putting up red tape for no benefit. There is no evidence to support this bill and the City's own data shows that travel times have not increased, emergency response times have not been impacted, and local businesses have seen economic boosts. This is also undemocratic as Toronto just had a municipal election where bike infrastructure expansion was a wedge issue, and the city voted in favour of keeping their existing plans to expand the network and provide a safe alternative transportation network.

Stop meddling in municipal affairs and focus on getting transit projects moving, getting housing built, and getting hospitals funded. This is the biggest waste of time and resources I have seen your government undertake. This is not based in reality and you have provided no evidence to support this legislation. You have also not provided any details on what criteria you would need to add new bike infrastructure, how it could be accomplished, or what alternatives solutions would look like.

Please scrap this bill as this is a huge waste of time and money. Toronto is one of the densest areas in North America and no amount of road space will reduce the congestion of everyone needing to drive for every trip. Please let cities continue with their transportation plans which address all transportation needs, from walking, to biking, to driving, to trucking, and everything in between. You do not have the capacity or knowledge to engage with every project, collect data on every street, or be involved with every consultation.

This is a total government overreach and is undemocratic. Shameful to see this happening in the province I love which has been making such great progress on making our cities livable and welcoming to residents of all ages.

This policy will result in dead Ontarians. Reverse your decision now.
