this is a bad idea. this is overstep by the provincial govt. when traffic and gridlock are not positively affected by the removal of bike lanes what will the response be? when a cyclist is injured or killed on a roadway due to the removal of bike lanes what will the response be? do we really think removing a 1M to 1.5M bike lane is enough to add another car lane? the provincial govt should instead look at enforcement of the current traffic laws, address poor driver knowledge of traffic laws, address construction that results in lane removals, get the new subways running, take back the 407. removing bike lanes is not going to address gridlock. removing bike lanes is going to put bikes on roadways and more people in cars.
