I oppose the proposal in so far as it would enable the province to remove bike lanes on Bloor, Yonge and University without further evidence that those lanes are slowing car traffic significantly.
I am also concerned that the proposal prioritizes moving cars quickly, with little reference to safety (of cyclists, pedestrians and people in cars).
I am further concerned that removal of existing bike lanes will be a gross waste of tax dollars.
Last, this proposal is an over-reach by the province, into municipal affairs that should mostly be left to the city's elected officials.
