The Ontario government is using flawed statistics to make decisions regarding lives, citing data for the GTA while bike lanes are only installed in a small part of the City of Toronto. The city has already signaled its stance by rejecting the current premier in his unsuccessful bid for mayor - he needs to stay out of municipal affairs.
As a lifelong conservative voter, if this passes, I will be voting for the NDP.
I also intend to take up an entire lane of traffic and cycle at 20 km/h, letting drivers navigate around me - it's safer than trying to share a lane with cars and trucks.
I have friends who will go back to driving, which will only add to the traffic on the road.
