Provincial governments shouldn't be adding red tape and unnecessary bureaucracy that slows down local efforts to expand transportation options. I use bike lanes every day and see them as essential infrastructure, just like sidewalks. Rather than focusing only on increasing car capacity, we need to prioritize safety and ensure options for vulnerable road users. When I drive, I'd much rather have cyclists in designated bike lanes than sharing the road. Bike lanes also complement transit investments by improving access to stations.
