This is an absolutely terrible proposal. You should be ashamed of putting the convenience and expediency of drivers above the safety of cyclists and pedestrians. Do you really think that by removing these bike lanes, cyclists will stop using these roads? The reason those bike lanes were necessary in the first place, was to ensure the safety of the cyclists riding these routes. The only thing that will decrease gridlock is a decrease in the number of cars on the road. We should be expanding our network of bike lanes so that there is a safe and viable alternative to driving; that way we can reduce the number of cars thus creating a Reduction of Gridlock, Saving EVERYONE Time. Making driving even faster just encourages more people to take their cars, which defeats the purpose. THE FEWER CARS ON THE ROAD THE LESS TRAFFIC AND GRIDLOCK!
