The government of Toronto + Ontario's own research has shown that bike lanes save the lives of not just bicyclists, but of pedestrians and drivers. They provide health benefits (saving on healthcare), road maintenance, and improves foot-traffic of local businesses. Nearly every single large city in the world progressively transitions *away* from car transport to public transport, walking, and bicycling.
There's many other problems in this province that can be focused on. Let Toronto deal with their own problems and come up with their own solutions.
