Bike lane infrastructure supports public safety of cyclists, and it's removal or any burdensome approval processes reduces the safety of Ontario bikers - children going to school, workers going to work, or anyone just out for a ride for an errand or for recreation. Biking supports public transit infrastructure, and it also supports business along bike routes. As a pedestrian I would much rather walk to a business located on a street with a bike lane than one with an additional lane of car traffic hugging right up against the sidewalk.
